Max Vend AuditLok XLV Electronics & Electrical SystemElectrical ArchitectureMax Vend consists of the can assembly (CPU assembly, Lock Board, UIB, and Hopper Board), hopper assemblies, side panel connector plate, door components (lock, sensor, and interlock), optional CashCode validator, and various interconnecting cables. The electronics can contains the CPU assembly, Lock Board, UIB, Hopper Board, and interconnecting cables. The can is mounted on glides so it can be pulled out for easy access. It is not necessary to remove the can from the chassis to replace individual components or cables.![]() Can ReplacementAlways observe proper grounding and static precautions while working with exposed electronics.1. Print a Config Report. 2. Print an Enrolled User Report. 3. Print an End Day Report. 4. If the system includes one or more R-units: Perform the Remove Device procedure (Section 7) to remove all V1R and V2R units. 5. If the system has more than one display: Perform the Remove Display procedure (Section 7) to remove Display 01 and above. 6. Open the door. 7. Remove power from the safe. 8. Slide the can out to its maximum extension. 9. Disconnect all cables to the can before removing it from the glides. Note: Mark cables as they are being disconnected to ensure they are reconnected properly after installing the replacement can. 10. Press down on the glide release tabs and gently pull the can out. 11. Slide the replacement can onto the glides. 12. Reconnect cables. 13. Restore power. 14. Perform the System Restoration procedure (below). 15. Default new CPU login IS User 0 and PIN 1536. ![]() CPU ReplacementThe CPU is the brain. The CPU assembly is comprised of two boards (top and bottom). These two boards always come as an assembly. Do not attempt to separate them or swap individual CPU boards. The assembly is always mounted inside the electronics can.1. Perform Steps 1 to 8 of the Can Replacement procedure (above). 2. Use a permanent marker to mark each cable connected to the top row of ports on the CPU assembly, then disconnect each of these. 3. Use a permanent marker to mark each cable connected to the bottom row of ports on the CPU assembly, then disconnect each of these. 4. Disconnect the power harness from the other side of the CPU assembly. 5. Remove the mounting screws from the CPU assembly and remove the assembly. 6. Install the new CPU assembly and replace the mounting screws. 7. Reconnect the power harness and all RJ45 connections to the CPU. 8. Connect safe power. 9. Check device inventory and if necessary perform a Device Search (see Section 8). 10. Perform the System Restoration procedure (below). 11. default new cpu login IS User 0 and PIN 1536. UIB or Lock Board Replacement1. Print a Config Report.2. Open the door. 3. Remove power from the safe. 4. Slide the can out to its maximum extension. 5. Disconnect all cables from the UIB and/or Lock Board. 6. Remove the mounting screws. 7. Replace the UIB and/or Lock Board. 8. Reinstall the mounting screws. 9. Reconnect cables. 10. Connect safe power. 11. Check device inventory and if necessary perform a Device Search (see Section 8). 12. Perform the System Restoration procedure (below). Hopper Board Replacement1. Open the door.2. Remove power from the safe. 3. Slide the can out to its maximum extension. 4. Disconnect all cables from the Hopper Board. 5. Remove the mounting screws. 6. Replace the Hopper Board. 7. Reinstall the mounting screws. 8. Reconnect cables. 9. Connect safe power. 10. Verify operation of hoppers and the safe door lock before closing the safe door and returning to normal operation. System RestorationThis procedure assumes the CPU assembly, UIB, Lock Board or the entire can was replaced.1. If the system includes R-units and/or additional displays: Perform the Add Device procedure (Section 7) to add the R-units (including extra displays) back to the system. 2. Print a Config Report. 3. Mark the Config Report with all of the differences from the pre-repair Config Report. This will allow you to see what settings must be reprogrammed. 4. Reprogram device settings as required. In particular all board names will need to be entered. If a safe has two doors it may be necessary to try opening each door to verify which door is which. 5. Create box cash for each manual and validated drop compartment. 6. Create macro cash made up of all validated drop box cashes if and only if the system includes two or more V1R / V2R safes. 7. Print another Config Report and a Cash Report. Verify them against the originals and make any additional changes required. |
