AuditLok XLV CommunicationV1R/V2R Device SyncPerform a Device Sync to establish R-unit internal soft addresses and internal device inventory (Section 10). A Device Sync must be done after replacing a UIB or a Lock Board (rather than replacing an entire can supplied by the factory) or if a UIB Sync Check fails. Device Sync establishes communication between the UIB connected to the external data bus and all other boards inside the R-unit.1. Print End Day, Enrolled User, and Configuration reports if possible. 2. Remove the R-unit (Section 7). 3. Disconnect the data bus from the R-unit. 4. Remove power from the R-unit. 5. Set Lock Board SW1 Segment 1 to ON (all lock boards). 6. On the second Lock Board (if present) set SW1 Segment 6 to ON. 7. On whichever is the last Lock Board (J2 or J1 open): set SW1 Segment 8 to ON. 8. Set UIB SW2 Segment 8 to ON (all UIBs) 9. Set UIB SW2 Segment 1 ON for JCM or OFF for CashCode or Mars validators. 9. Restore power. 10. Wait at least one full minute. 11. Perform the UIB Sync Check (above). If Sync Check fails, replace a different board and repeat Device Sync until the defective board is replaced. 12. Remove power. 13. Set Lock Board SW1 Segment 1 to OFF (all lock boards). 14. Set UIB SW2 Segment 8 to OFF (all UIBs). 15. Restore power to the safe. After one minute verify proper UIB Sync (above). UIB Sync CheckOpen the can. Apply power to the can. Observe LEDs on the UIB(s) for proper sync indication:1. V1R: Any two of the four LEDs will blink in a regular repeating pattern. 2. V2R: Any two of the four LEDs on one UIB will flash in a regular repeating pattern; the opposite two LEDs on the second UIB will also blink in a regular repeating pattern. The patterns do not have to match from one board to the other except that it must be opposite LED pairs blinking. 3. If the LEDs on a UIB blink randomly, are solid, or otherwise do not blink in a repeatable pattern as described above, replace the UIB. If both UIBs in a V2R are not indicating proper sync it may only be necessary to replace one, perform a Device Sync, and determine if the correct UIB was replaced by checking sync indicators again. In rare cases a Lock Board may be the cause of a sync check failure. |
