Sherlock - Troubleshooting

No Display

The safe probably has no power.
1. Check transformer temperature.
2. Check transformer output voltage (9 Vdc).
3. If the transformer has no output replace it. A generic 9 Vdc 500 ma negative tip supply may be used.
4. If the transformer does not solve the problem send the following parts: transformer, outer board, inner board, communication cable, lock, and lock cable. Drill only after attempting to replace the outer board.

Blank Display

1. Symptom: black spots appear on the display or odd characters appear in the display.
2. Replace the outer board.

All Enrolled Keys Are Lost

1. Area Coach or Security Manager needs to order an Add-a-Key.
2. RGM must be instructed to call factory Technical Support to enroll the Add-A-Key when it arrives.

Timelock Lockout

1. Store must wait for safe to come out of timelock. There is no override.
2. Store may contact Area Coach to edit time or timelock settings.
3. If the safe is accidentally placed in permanent timelock the outer board must be replaced.

LINK ERROR Message

There is some sort of data communication problem in or between the inner and outer boards.
1. The following parts should be issued: inner and outer boards, communication cable, outer door lock and cable, data cable adapter.
2. Attempt replacement of the outer board before drilling.
3. Drill safe open.
4. Replace the outer door lock and, if necessary, the outer door lock cable.
5. Troubleshoot source of problem to inner board, communication cable, or outer board.
6. Replace parts necessary and return other parts to factory.

INVALID KEY Message

1. The key is either not enrolled, the PIN was changed or forcotton, or the microchip inside the key is damaged.
2. Obtain a new key. Keys have a lifetime warranty. Return to the Security Manager to order a replacement from the factory.
