Versions

The Sherlock electronics package was available both in a keyed version and a keyless version. In most cases the same rules apply to both versiosn. One significant difference is that the keyless version uses a User Number and a 6-digit PIN number while the keyed version uses a small electronic key with a 4-digit PIN number.

History

Sherlock was developed in the late 1980's by FireKing and sold (almost) exclusively to NKL for corporate Pizza Hut. Sherlock was installed on NKL "Premium" (BSD style) safes. When NKL was bought out by FireKing, Sherlock was soon after discontinued. About three years later Sherlock was brought back out as a low-end intelligent lock package for the Gary S3 Series (originally NKL 3-Series) safes. Pizza Hut Sherlock was the key version, but when reintroduced we offered both a keyed and keyless version.

Major Features

Sherlock controls one or two doors and has a 2000 line audit. The outer door has a timelock feature. The inner door (if present) has a time delay feature. Depending on the version (key/keyless) about 30 users may be enrolled including one Store Manager and one Area Manager. The electronics have no overrides, no door sensors, no internal battery backup. Sherlock uses a 9 VDC power supply. All times are AM and PM rather than 24-hour format.
