Auditor Autobank - Sensor BoardTesting the Sensor Board The sensor board may be tested independently
to verify proper operation. This is done with the safe powered
up and the sensor board connected, but unmounted. A piece of
plain paper and a mirror or shiny reflective metal surface will
be needed to perform these tests. If either test fails replace
the sensor board. Replace the driver and CPU only if a new sensor
board does not appear to function.HOME Sensor (Sled Position along Interrupt Strip): The HOME sensor is SS1 on the sensor board. With an open air-gap between the teeth of SS1 the HOME light on the main board should be lit. Slip a piece of paper between the teeth of SS1 and the HOME light should go off. If the sensor does not respond replace the sensor board. COL Sensor (Sled Position along Interrupt Strip): The COL (column) sensor is SS2 on the sensor board. With an open air-gap between the teeth of SS2 the COL light on the main board should be lit. Slip a piece of paper between the teeth of SS2 and the COL light should go off. If the sensor does not respond replace the sensor board. BACK Sensor (Plunger Position): The BACK sensor is RS2 on the sensor board. With no reflective surface near this sensor, the BACK light should be off. When a reflective surface (mirror, Aluminum foil, etc) is brought within less than a half inch the BACK light should light. If it does not, replace the sensor board. OUT Sensor (Plunger Position): The OUT sensor is RS1 on the sensor board. With no reflective surface near this sensor, the OUT light should be off. When a reflective surface (mirror, Aluminum foil, etc) is brought within less than a half inch the OUT light should light. If it does not, replace the sensor board. Aligning the Sensor Board Any time maintenance is done involving sled
related hardware, the alignment of the sensor board should be
checked and, if necessary, adjusted.1. If the sensor board is suspect, check its operation per above Sensor Board Tests. 2. Open Door 1 and remove the sled and circuitry covers. 3. Check that the interrupter strip is properly mounted (column notches down) and not rubbing sensor teeth. Check that the interrupter strip edge reaches about half way into the sensor teeth. 4. Verify the sled cable is properly attached and that all wiring is properly connected. 5. Manually move the sled fully toward the left (toward the open side of the door). As you move the sled, you should observe the COL light lit as the sensors move across each notch in the interrupter strip. The HOME light should be lit only when the sled is fully to the right. The HOME and COL lights should not ever be lit at the same time. Adjust the depth of the Sensor Board as needed until you can make these observations. 6. Turn power to the safe off and back on. After the power-up cycle, the sled should move fully to the right (hinge side of door) and, when it reaches the right side, the HOME and BACK lights should be on and the COL and OUT lights should be off. 7. If the sled moves correctly and the safe is equipped with software version 5.0 or higher, perform the Sled Operational Test. 8. If the safe has software version 4.0 or lower, retest by running several vend cycles. If you encounter SLED TIMEOUT or PLUNGER TIMEOUT messages, refer to the applicable section. Replacing the Sensor Board1. Connect electrically and verify sensor operation before mounting board. This is to ensure the replacement board is in proper working order.2. Install (mount) the Sensor Board, including routing cable and connecting to JP4. 3. Align the Sensor Board such that teeth of SS1 and SS2 extend over the interrupter strip without rubbing. When pushing the sled left or right the COL light on the Driver Board should light as it passes column notches and the HOME light should light when the sled is fully to the left. The plunger BACK sensor should be aligned with the shiny strip on the plunger when the plunger is fully retracted. 4. Perform the Sled Test to make final Sensor Board positional adjustments.
