Auditor Autobank - PowerTroubleshooting Power Problems1. Check transformer plugged into AC.2. Check AC outlet has power with a known working electric device such as a radio. 3. Check transformer temperature. A cold transformer usually indicates a blown transformer. A hot transformer may also indicate a blown transformer, or may indicate a short within the safe electronics. A transformer warm to the touch usually indicates a properly functioning transformer. 4. Check power switch. 5. Replace fuse. (A blown fuse will not usually appear blown.) 6. After replacing fuse cycle power switch. 7. Check transformer output voltage. If the transformer has no output, replace it. 8. If the safe cannot be opened by dual key override it must be drilled. Voltage Checks12U: Unregulated DC input from the driver board. Measures 16 Vdc.GND: Ground reference. +5: Regulated 5 Vdc. +12: Regulated 12 Vdc. This supply is not used in current production, but in obsolete units this voltage was used to power in internally mounted printer unit. Q1 Gase, Blue: 13.2 Vdc. Q1 Collector, Yellow: 16 Vdc. Q1 Emitter, Red: 12 Vdc. VR1 In, Blue: 12 Vdc. VR1 Ground, Yellow: 0V. VR1 Out, Red: 5 Vdc. RepairIf the power supply board, transister, or regulator fails, replace all three as a set. In most cases a failure of any one of these will weaken the others resulting in secondary failure in the near future.Power Switch and Fuse: ![]() External Transformer: Power Supply Board: ![]() Power Transistor (top) and Voltage Regulator (bottom): ![]() |
