Keypad Lock - LaGard Basic (3600) & ComboGard (2789) KeypadsNormal Operation1. Enter the 6-digit combination.2. Two beeps means the combo was accepted. Three beeps means the combo was not accepted. 3. Entering four consecutive wrong combos will lockout the keypad for 5 minutes. 4. After penalty time entry of two consecutive wrong combos will start a new 5 minute penalty period. 5. If you receive two beeps but the door does not unlock, replace the keypad batteries.
Change Batteries (3600)When the batteries are low the keypad may give normal signal that the combo is accepted and the safe may be opened, yet the safe will still not open. The reason is becuase weak batteries may still be strong enough to make the beep sound and light the LED but not be strong enough to pull the solenoid.1. Put heel of hand under keypad. 2. Push up until keypad becomes free. 3. Replace with good quality alkaline batteries. 4. Reattach keypad and verify operation.
Change Batteries (2789 - ComboGard)When the batteries are low the keypad may give normal signal that the combo is accepted and the safe may be opened, yet the safe will still not open. Hold new 9V battery to the + & – terminals on the keypad and continue to hold the battery. 2. Enter the combo while holding the battery to the knob terminals. 3. Carefully turn the knob while continuing to hold the battery to the knob terminals. 4. Only after the door is open may the battery be removed from the knob terminals. 5. Replace the battery in the battery holder inside the compartment.
Change Combo1. Enter six zero's.2. Enter the old combo once. 3. Enter the new combo twice. 4. The keypad should double-beep after each six-digit entry. If the safe triple-beeps an incorrect entry was made and the old combo will remain in effect. Second User Combo1. To add a second user combo:1a. Enter primary user combo holding down the last digit until the keypad double-beeps twice. 1b. Press 1. The keypad should double beep. 1c. Enter the secondary user combo twice. If the keypad double-beeps after each entry the secondary combo is accepted. 2. To remove second user combo: 2a. Enter primary user combo holding down the last digit until the keypad double-beeps twice. 2b. Press 2. The keypad should double beep. 2c. The secondary combo is disabled. Delay Time (If Used)1. Enter combo to start delay.2. LED flashes once per second during delay. 3. If a valid combo is entered during the delay, the delay restarts. 4. If an invalid combo is entered during the delay, the delay aborts. 5. When the delay ends the access time starts and the LED flashes twice per second and the lock will begin to beep at 10 second intervals. 6. Enter combo to open safe. DuressEnter a combo where the last digit is one digit higher or lower than the actual combo.Wrong Try Penalty1. Entering four consecutive wrong combos will lockout the keypad for 5 minutes.2. After penalty time entry of two consecutive wrong combos will start a new 5 minute penalty period. Lost Combo - Before May 2000The Master Combo as shipped was 123456. There was No Second User Combo.1. If the Master Combo is lost with the safe locked shut, the only solution is to drill. Lost Combo - Since May 2000The Master Combo is 134679. The Second User Combo is 123456. The customer takes delivery with documentation showing their combo is 123456. There will be no documentation showing the master combo of 134679. The user can change their combo (the Second User Combo) using the normal method.1. Delete the Second User: a. Enter 134679, but hold down the last digit (9) until the lock signals with two beeps. b. Enter 3. The lock will signal with one beep. The second user is deleted. 2. Add Second User Combo (creates combo for user). a. Enter 134679, but hold down the last digit (9) until the lock signals with two beeps. b. Enter 1. The lock will signal with one beep. The unit is ready to accept the new combo: c. Enter the new 6-digit (User 2) combo. The lock will signal twice. d. Enter the new 6-digit combo again. The lock will signal twice if the confirmation number matches. 3. Test the new combo to verify operation. 4. If the unit did not accept the new combo repeat Steps 1 and 2. 5. If the unit does not accept the primary code for some reason, make sure the batteries are good and that you are not in a retry penalty before drilling.
