XLV-iP CT8016 CMP Application

About CMP

The CMP application is a PC program used to configure numerous CT8016 settings which are not accessible through the keypad. Production uses the CMP application to preconfigure safes per customer specification before the product leaves the production area. The CMP application may only be provided to NKL factory service technicians. The tech with the CMP application may connect to the safe using a standard network connection (peer-to-peer or through a LAN). The TCP/IP address and related settings at the safe must be known.

NOTE: Refer to the CMP manual for complete directions how to connect and use the CMP application.

Safe TCP/IP Settings

Before CMP connection is possible you must configure the TCP/IP settings for your safe using the safe’s control panel. During CMP setup the PC must connect to the safe using TCP/IP. You may connect both to a LAN or make a “peer to peer” connection using a network crossover cable. Use the procedure below to set a fixed (non-DHCP) address at the safe. If DHCP is used your network administrator must find and provide the safe’s TCP/IP address to you for use with the CMP application. Refer to service/install work order for network settings:
1. Log in: Administrator level access is required. The ID and PIN shown here assume factory defaults have not changed. You must use the correct ID and PIN for your safe.
   • Enter Personal ID (1111).
   • Enter PIN (1111).
   • Select login.
   • Select menu.
2. Choose General Settings.
3. Select select.
4. Choose Local Net.
5. Select select.
6. Select update to enable editing of settings.
7. Set DHCP status to OFF (press LEFT to toggle status if necessary).
8. Press DOWN to advance.
9. Enter the safe TCP/IP address.
10. Press DOWN to advance.
11. Enter the safe Net mask.
12. Press DOWN to advance.
13. Enter the safe Gateway address.
14. Select save.
15. Select YES to confirm.
16. Close your session.
17. Reboot the safe: switch the control panel off, wait 30 seconds, then switch the control panel on.

Setup CMP Configuration at the Safe

Before CMP connection is possible an entry for CMP Supervision must be created. If an entry has already been created, use this procedure as if you were creating a new one so that you can review or edit current settings.
4. Choose Supervisions.
5. Select select.
6. If a CMP entry already exists:
   • Choose CMP.
   • Select enter.
   • Press DOWN to advance through each setting screen.
   • Note the values present for each of these variables:
      Supervision ID
      Supervision User
      Supervision passw
      Remote User
      Remote Passw
      Remote System ID
By default each of these fields are blank and should remain blank except Remote System ID which should be CMP.
   • Select update to enable editing of settings if required. Select save after all editing is complete.
7. If a CMP entry does not exist, create one as follows:
   • Choose New.
   • Select enter.
   • Press LEFT (if necessary) to select CMP as the Supervision type.
   • Press DOWN to advance through each setting screen and set each of these as follows:
      Supervision ID: (blank)
      Supervision User: (blank)
      Supervision passw: (blank)
      Remote User: (blank)
      Remote Passw: (blank)
      Remote System ID: (CMP)
      COM port: (INTERNAL MODEM)
   • Select save after all editing is complete.
8. Close your session.

Connecting CMP to Safe

1. Start the CMP software.
2. At the System Settings tab select Connection Settings and fill in the equipment IP address (do not change the default Port). Enter login info to match safe parameters established above. Save connection information.
3. At the safe, log in and select Supervisions at the main menu, then select CMP, then initiate supervision. The screen should indicate the safe is awaiting incoming supervision. You now have about two minutes to connect from your PC.
4. In CMP, Select Connect from the top row of tabs. Enter the administrative login User (1111) and PIN (1111) then click OK. The safe should then indicate supervision in progress and you are now free to load settings and begin editing the configuration.
5. Select the Settings tab.
6. Click on Read Settings From Equipment.
7. You may now move among menu items in the left-side navigation pane. Edit settings as needed. Always click OK to save otherwise settings will not be sent to the safe.
8. When you are finished click Disconnect to end the communication and restore normal operation at the safe.
